Stop reading about the downturn. Have a plan for it.

Most economic commentary ends the same way: here's what's structurally wrong, good luck. You close the tab feeling informed, and on Monday nothing about your household has changed.

This manual is the other half. Four parts, forty-seven numbered strategies, and a worksheet for every practical one. It makes no forecast you have to take on faith — everything in it is built to hold up whether the next two years bring a boom, a slow grind or a recession. Know what you hold, stop the leaks, read the data yourself, and do it on a schedule.

01The four parts

Each part answers one question about your household. Work through them in order.

Part I

Hold

Strategies 1 – 14 · Worksheets 01 – 05

What do we own, what shape should it be in, and what would make us change it?

Most households don't have an investing problem; they have an inventory problem. This part fixes it in order: what you have, what shape you want it in, what holding it really costs — physical metal, funds and ETFs, inflation-protected Treasuries, plain cash — and what would make you change your mind, written down while you're calm.

  • Separate the buffer from everything else, then decide the allocation before you shop
  • Physical metal without the brochure: what you're buying, what the spread costs, where it's stored
  • Document holdings for insurance and for whoever comes after you
  • Rebalance with new money first, and write your exit rules in advance

Part II

Cut

Strategies 15 – 29 · Worksheets 06 – 13

Where is money leaving the household every month without a decision?

Find what reprices every year, then go room by room. Heating and cooling, hot water and standby power, the pantry as inventory, unit price over coupons, debts ranked by rate, refinancing that's really a fee, and every insurance policy audited for the coverage you're paying for twice.

  • The room-by-room energy audit with the twelve-month payback rule
  • A price book and unit-cost comparisons instead of deal-chasing
  • The debt ladder: pay down, refinance, or keep the cash
  • Insurance audit, overlap finder, and the subscription sweep

Part III

Read

Strategies 30 – 34 · Worksheet 14 + Dashboard

Which five public numbers show a change in conditions early?

Energy and oil, inflation reports, metals and commodities, Federal Reserve policy, and supply chain flow — each read straight from its official U.S. source. You learn what the release actually measures, when it lands, and what a real turn looks like next to ordinary noise.

  • The figure inside each release that carries the signal
  • Official sources and publication schedules — EIA, BLS, the Fed
  • A turn-or-noise page to think a move through before acting on it
  • A monthly signal log: fifteen minutes, kept up for good

Part IV

Do

Strategies 35 – 47 · The 90-Day Checklist

How do we turn all of this into action in ninety days, and keep it going?

Six two-week blocks — the household audit, shape and rules, energy, food-debt-insurance, building the dashboard, closing the loop — then the monthly fifteen minutes, the quarterly review, what to do when a signal turns, what to do when nothing happens, and the maintenance checklist.

  • A block-by-block roadmap with session plans and scorecards
  • Each block ends with something written down, not just read
  • Rules for when a signal turns — and for when nothing does
  • Keeping the household with you, and the quarterly maintenance routine
02Part III · The Signal Dashboard

Five indicators. Fifteen minutes a month.

A number on its own tells you nothing. The same number moving the same way for the fourth month in a row tells you a great deal. The dashboard gives you twelve months of readings for each series, one row per indicator, so the pattern down the row is what you see — not any single print.

30Weekly · EIA

Energy and oil

The input cost sitting under nearly everything else you buy.

31Monthly · BLS

Inflation reports

What your dollars are actually losing, print by print.

32Daily

Metals and commodities

Where industrial demand is really heading, ahead of the headlines.

33Per meeting

Federal Reserve policy

The price of money, and which direction it's being pushed.

34Weekly

Supply chain flow

Whether goods are moving or backing up at the ports.

Before you act

The turn-or-noise page

A one-page test for thinking a move through before you do anything about it.

05Straight answers

Things people ask before they buy.

Five PDFs in your account: the 69-page Blueprint, the First-Week Quick Start, the Signal Dashboard, the 90-Day Action Checklist and the 14 Printable Worksheets. Read them in any browser on a phone, tablet or laptop, or download them. The worksheets and dashboard are laid out to print cleanly on A4 and US Letter and are meant to be filled in by hand.

Immediately. As soon as Razorpay confirms the payment, your library opens under the email you paid with. Come back any time by signing in with that same address — there's no password. Files can be downloaded as often as you like and nothing expires.

No. A printer and a pen are enough, and that's deliberate — a system that depends on an app ends when the subscription does. Everything the book refers to is on paper you print yourself.

No. There are no tickers, no entries, no exits, and no product or dealer is endorsed. Part I explains what different holdings actually are and what they cost to hold; the decisions stay yours, and the book asks you to write them down before you act.

It's educational material. It doesn't know your situation, your state's rules or your obligations, and nothing in it is a recommendation. Take it to a licensed professional before acting on anything.

Refund and cancellation policy

Last updated 18 September 2026

All sales are final

Crisis Shield is a digital publication. Access is granted to your account in full and immediately on payment, and cannot be returned or withdrawn once given. For that reason, purchases are non-refundable, including if you change your mind, buy by mistake, or decide the material is not what you expected.

By completing your purchase, you are asking for immediate access and accept that no refund is available once it has been granted. Please read the product page in full before buying — it outlines exactly what is included, and who the book is not for.

What we will always put right

These are billing errors rather than refunds, and we fix them without argument:

  • You were charged twice: The duplicate transaction is refunded in full.
  • You paid but never got access: We restore access, or refund you if we cannot.
  • A payment you did not authorize: If fraud is formally verified.
  • The product is materially not as described: Tell us specifically what is missing and we will fix it or refund you.

Nothing to cancel

There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Payment is one-time. Access stays attached to your account, and future editions are added to it as they release.

How to raise a problem

Email [email protected] with the address you paid with and your payment reference. We respond within one business day. Where a refund is due, we approve it within 2 business days and Razorpay returns it to your original payment method — your bank or card issuer typically takes a further 5-7 business days to process it, which is outside our control.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy restricts your statutory rights under local law. If your local jurisdiction gives a cancellation right for digital purchases, that right prevails over this policy. If you believe you have such a right, write to us to check rather than disputing it with your bank.
